JAPANESE MATCHING TEAPOT & 5 CUPS – Porcelain, Signed, Vintage Early1980’s TokyoThis lovely teapot with 5 matching cups was purchased in Tokyo in the early 1980’s. The cobalt blue and white, hand-painted teapot has a reed handle, and the teapot and cups all share the Japanese Karako theme of children at play. They symbolize the innocence and joy of childhood. The cups are signed on the bottom with a chop/mark, and the inside lid of the teapot bears the signature marks. The teapot is 5” tall, and 8 ½” wide including the spout. The cups are approximately 3” wide and 2 ½” tall.
This lovely set is in very good pre-owned condition and despite its age, has actually never been used. There is one tiny fleck off of the teapot lid (See Photo #5). Thank you for your interest. Please contact us, if you have any questions.
